Curry has played just 39 games this season. The 37-year-old is averaging 27.2 points on 46.8% shooting, 3.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.1 steals in 31.3 minutes per contest. Curry is also knocking down 4.5 triples per game on a 39.1% clip.

The Warriors have struggled without their cornerstone superstar in the mix. They currently have a 35-38 record and are 10th in the Western Conference.

The hard truth is that this is shaping up to be another wasted season for Curry. He is expected to return at some point, but the Warriors are not considered a serious threat to win the title this year.
Now in his 17th season in the NBA, the fact of the matter is that Curry likely doesn’t have too many years left on the court. The former back-to-back MVP is now at the tail end of his career, and the Warriors have no choice but to start planning for after his retirement.

Kerr addressed this looming development in a recent interview on 95.7 The Game. The four-time NBA champion coach admitted that there is simply no replacing Curry. Nevertheless, he remains confident in the Warriors.
“That’s sports. That’s part of it,” Kerr said. “… We have an incredible organization. We have such smart people here and we have such great infrastructure that we’re going to find our way back once this thing is officially done.
“Whether it includes me or not, I believe in this organization, the people here. But no matter how you slice it, it’s not easy. But you have to stick together and you got to have a good plan. And I have no doubt the Warriors will have that.”

Curry still has a lot of gas left in the tank. The general belief is that he still has a couple of good years ahead of him. For what it’s worth, the 11-time All-NBA guard is under contract with the Warriors through next season.
